A white background is the most common choice for product photos. It looks clean, keeps the focus on the product and matches marketplace requirements.
Use the default
The prefilled Background Instructions already ask for a clean white background, precise edges, natural shadows and professional studio lighting. For most stores, this default is all you need.
Fine-tune it
- For pure white with no shadow, add no shadow, pure white #FFFFFF background
- For softer contrast, ask for off-white instead
- For light products such as white sneakers, ask for a subtle shadow to separate the product from the background
