Why does the new image have a generic alt text?
A replaced image is a new image, so it gets a generic alt text with the product ID. Edit it in Shopify to give shoppers and search engines a description.

REMOVEit adds the edited photo as a new image, so the original alt text is not carried over. The new image gets a generic alt text such as Featured image for product plus an internal ID.
Open the product with Edit in Shopify, click the image and write a short description. It helps SEO and shoppers who use screen readers.
